It's on hold until we have Nthusim HMD in good shape. Emmanuel has looked over the SoftTH open source and decided when we do the utility that we'll scratch code it new and feature match SoftTH 2.0 but with a new user interface and DX7-11.1 and OpenGL render pipeline capability. Right now our man-hours are allocated to getting Nthusim HMD done and presentable before the consumer Rift is released. Our next proposed project after Nthusim HMD is slated to be the SoftTH clone though. Right now it's an issue of focusing our limited manpower towards HMD then shifting over to the SoftTH clone when HMD is released. Tentatively the name for the utility will be Nthusim MH (multi-head).

Its good to hear that you still have it in plan.
I cant stress enough how perfect a 20x30x20 PLP setup is, and having a solid solution would be a godsend.
Please feel free to let me know if you need testing during development. I would be happy to help.

Development will probably be handled similar to Nthusim HMD. We'll most likely have an early access testing group too for it. So much left to do with Nthusim HMD at the moment that I have no real idea when we might shift from planning to code with the SoftTH clone though. We're prioritizing Nthusim HMD with our programming resources until we know it's in good shape for Rift consumer launch.

The threshold for development was 1000 signatures on the petition, and so far it's nowhere near that. At the moment all our development focus is on Nthusim Plus 4.0 and Nthusim HMD. Should we have available resources after both of those are out we might revisit it again. The market interest simply wasn't there so far. Until a 1000 signatures are gathered that have a true interest in the purchasing the utility, it's development is in limbo.

Sure thing, let me dig up the link. The petition was started by a third party to get a general consensus on such a utility being developed. The petition itself is not run by us, although they've allowed us access to the petition results.

Darfiber on the Star Citizen forums initially started the petition.

We've also pondered a Kickstarter for the development too. We have to get beyond version 1.0 of Nthusim HMD before we can really properly allocate software engineering towards a SoftTH clone though. The two main impediments are initial interest and man power allocation. The idea for the utility is sound as long as we can address those two limitations.

I really want to do the utility but it's going to require a minimum critical mass of people to make it plausible. If there are any updates I'll post here. Thanks,
