Getting started with two projectors on flat screen

Your projector questions can be answered here.

Hello everybody,

I'm quite new in this "projector thing".
Today I for the first time tried NTHUSIM.

It really looks compact and user-friendly.
But to be honest; the "results" I gain until now, cannot be called "results" ... ;-)

What I did so far:
I use two projectors (images overlap), combined using Eyefinity, set "primary" afterwards.
I start and configure NTHUSIM now.

AND I think here's my problem:
I adjust the grid as I think it's correct.
But I do not have a manual or tutorial.
Is there something like this available ? ... a PDF, a PPT, a video ??
It would be very helpful.

Because I do not really know how to optimize my final image ...
How much overlapping is advised ?
How shall I "handle" the overlapping region ?
...

I think I'm already struggling with the basics ... :-\

I am thankful for every hint.

Cheers, J.

There are a few FAQs in the following link: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=43

I'm in the process of also writing a user manual for Nthusim Plus. I'm hoping to have it out in the next month. The overlap is about 15%.

Thanks for the quick response.
I'm really looking forward to the manual !!
Let's see what I can achieve until it's out ...

Next issue:
I use the 3.3.183 Plus Trial version.
So I (have to) close/open NTHUSIM every 10 minutes ...
I did this - let's say - the last two hours, when playing around to have a nice image with my race car sim.
What I achieved so far looked OK,
BUT suddenly it appeared, that I can open NTHUSIM, do my settings, including blending, save/restore my setup and when opening my "game", nothing happens, the screens don't change / don't use NTHUSIM ... !
Is this a restriction of the unregistered version or what could solve my problem ?
Restarting the computer, re-plugging all the hardware didn't lead to success ...

Thanks for the support, J.

Just to confirm you are minimizing Nthusim, not closing it out? It has to run in the background while the game is running.

Hello again,
sorry for my late reaction on your last post, but every time I tried to log in using my standard user, the browser showed me an error message saying:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function remove_newly_registered() in /home/nthusite/forums.nthusim.com/includes/session.php on line 2413

So I had to generate a new one, that's the reason for my slightly "modified" user name ;-)

Let's come back to your question:
I of course only minimize the tool.
I also receive this 10 minute info and afterwards restart NTHUSIM.
I am able to load my last config, but it does'n't do any changes on the video output of my DX based game ... hmmm.

another more general question:
I am quite satisfied with how your tool handles the geometry of the overlapping images,
BUT the overlapping region is adjusted in a too dark way. can I modify that manually -> make it brigther ??

I mean, as soon as NTHUSIM works again ... ;-)

Thanks, J.

The mouse scroll wheel sets the blend area level brightness.

I'm thinking it might be a bug in the demo mode if it's no longer working. Could you go into the tools menu and look at the nthusim log? If you could paste that into a post that'll help me figure out things a bit easier. It'll tell me if anything is conflicting with Nthusim.

Do you happen to have a trial of Immersive Display installed? They programmed it to directly break Nthusim functionality. I'm not very happy how they don't play well with others. With the DX9 injection errors it looks a lot like what occurs when it's also installed. Uninstalling it should fix it.

Really ??
OK, that's definitely not fairplay !!

But since software packages which enable an efficient use of multiple projectors on a
professional system are quite expensive, we at the moment do a lot of testing ...
to hopefully find products (not necessarely only one) which help us to realize our projects.

Tomorrow I'll follow your advise and will hopefully be able to continue testing NTHUSIM.

Thanks.
