is there anyway to change the 15% overlap for edge blending?

Hi,

I just want confirm that there is currently no way to change the 15% edge blending overlap in NTHUSIM PLUS?

I'm just experimenting with NTHUSIM for a projection space. The screen is flat not curved.

Normally we use NVIDIA Mosaic with dual Panasonic projectors that do edge-blending/fade-to-black.
But I wanted to try a pair or portable Casio's we use for off-site demo's.
The blending with the Casio's is fine, if we we do the 15% overlap.

note: this was a very quick setup, yes i know the projectors aren't perpendicular to the screen.

oky, I see that variable blend overlap is in the 4.x wishlist.

Yep, a few people have asked for it. I want it in too because of a few screens I've done dictate something other than the fixed 15%. The key with feature additions is to implement them in an intuitive manner. The reason why a lot of things are fixed in Nthusim is to keep things simple and straight forward for the consumer. I believe in a clean and straight forward interface, but that doesn't necessarily have to mean that options are omitted. I believe the feature set could be added to without making too much clutter in the UI. Just like the blend profile is done with the mouse wheel, Maybe we could do something similar with the scroll wheel for variable edge blend size.

My suggestion would be to make the thick vertical line that is the edge-blend boundary selectable with the mouse and draggable. 'coz that's what I tried to do!

We already drag control points around, so dragging that big line left or right to make the overlap wider or skinnier would seem natural.

Also print on the screen the overlap width as a percentage of display and in pixels.

To start with make ALL the edge-blend edges grow or shrink, whenever any of them are dragged.
Later on you may want to get smarter about different overlaps for different pairs of projectors.

Ignore all of that! We already drag the vertical edge line to line up the 15% fade-to-black edges.

This is what you get trying to suggest UI things purely from memory!

If you have any issues with edge blending let me know. I can help walk you though it. Any input on how to make it more straight forward is appreciated. We're back to working on Nthusim 4.0 at the moment.
